Cappadocia All Day Tour

Begin with a visit to the Göreme Open Air Museum, home to Cappadocia’s highest concentration of rock-cut chapels and monasteries. Explore churches adorned with superb Byzantine frescoes depicting scenes from the Old and New Testaments, the life of Christ, and the deeds of saints.

Continue to Devrent Valley and Pasabag Valley, known for their striking fairy chimneys. These remarkable earth pillars, set amidst a vineyard, are also called Monks Valley and feature a chapel dedicated to St. Simeon and a hermit’s shelter in a unique three-headed fairy chimney.

Take in panoramic views of Uçhisar Castle before heading to the town of Avanos, established by the Hittites along the Kızılırmak River. Known for its red clay, the area has a rich tradition of pottery dating back to the 2nd millennium BC. Conclude with a visit to a pottery workshop, where you’ll watch a live demonstration of the craft and the creation of ceramic masterpieces.

Istanbul Tour:  Underground Cistern, Hippodrome, Blue Mosque and Grand Bazaar

Start the day with a visit to the Underground Cistern, the largest of its kind from the Byzantine Empire, built to supply the city with water. Byzantine builders recycled stone structures, including columns and capitals, and an upside-down Medusa gazes hauntingly from her watery home.

Next, explore the Hippodrome, once a grand chariot race ground of the Byzantine Empire. Marvel at historic relics like the Egyptian Obelisk, the Serpentine Column from Delphi, and the Tiled Column erected in the 10th century.

Visit the Blue Mosque, built by Sultan Ahmed I in the early 17th century, renowned for its cascading domes and vivid blue Iznik tiles inside. Respectful attire is required to enter this functioning mosque, including removing your shoes and covering your head, shoulders, and knees.

Conclude at the Grand Bazaar, Turkey’s largest and oldest covered market, featuring over 4,000 shops. Explore its labyrinth of alleys, hidden courtyards, and fountains, where merchants sell everything from rare jewels to ceramics and souvenirs in an authentically vibrant atmosphere.
