Greece has it all!

Food! Sun! Beaches! Wine! History! Blue Waters!! Greece is one of the world's most popular tourist destinations, ranking in the world's top 20 countries. Visitors on Greek vacations are drawn to the country's beaches and reliable sunny summer weather, its nightlife, historical sites, and natural beauty. The nation's terrain is just as varied as its architectural heritage featuring:
● Idyllic beaches
● Towering mountain ranges
● Wine-producing valleys
● Vast stretches of olive orchards in the south
● Lush forests in the north

Greece's historical sights are just as varied; the country is littered with just as many medieval churches and castles as classical ruins and temples.

Crete: The Largest Greek Island

Known as the largest Greek Island, Crete is diverse, vibrant, and packed with ancient ruins, breathtaking beaches, and buzzing cities. From exploring the sun, sea, and sand to seeing some of the best hiking in Europe and world-class museums, the attractions in Crete are as varied as the landscape. You cannot get enough of the Cretan experience, whether at a homely countryside taverna or an atmospheric seaside cafe, slipping into the slow pace of city life.

The Palace of Knossos

Once the epicenter of Crete's ancient minion civilization, this magnificent monument is home to legends such as the Minotaur and Labyrinth. With a 3-mile distance south of Heraklion, the Palace ruins feature a fascinating historical view, including vibrant frescoes, crumbling staircases, and soaring columns, all of which make for hours of exploration. Major highlights include the Cup Bearer Fresco, the Prince of the Lilies Fresco, and, most famous of all, the Charging Bull Fresco.

Heraklion Archaeological Museum

This large museum houses the most extraordinary collections of ancient Greek artifacts you'll ever find. You'll easily realize why this place is held in high regard after a few hours of exploring the 2-story building. Over 5500 years of Cretan history are found in the building, with the Minoan collection topping the list as the most alluring artifact. Displayed are ancient pottery, jewelry, and ceremonial pieces of different ranges. Amongst them are the Heraklion attractions such as the Koules Venetian Fortress, Heraklion Archeological Museum, and other sights. These pieces are symbols of Greece's beautiful story and ancient history.

Santorini is what you might imagine an archetypal Greek Island to be, with its white-washed houses, churches, and blue sky. This beautiful island was formed by a huge volcanic eruption, creating a large lagoon in the middle of the island. It is consequently surrounded by cliffs on three sides. It still has an active volcano, the only one in the world whose crater is in the sea. Santorini has a reputation of being a romantic island with its crystal-clear waters. You can add to this the island's amazing sunsets. Akrotiri is an ancient city dating back to the Minoan civilization (2700–1420 BC), which was rediscovered only 50 years ago when it was found under the volcanic ash from an earthquake in the 1600's BC.

Traveling from outside the Washington, DC area? No worries, Vacation Envy International offers a Land Only package with all items listed above except airfare and airport transfers.

If for some reason you are unable to attend your highly anticipated trip, travel insurance can offer a means to recoup invested monies. Your reason for canceling could be 100 percent legitimate, but if the travel company has a no refund policy, though they will be sympathetic, it is unlikely the money can be returned. This is the power of a travel insurance policy. Subject to the policy purchased and its accompanying terms and conditions, filing a claim provides an avenue to recover your hard-earned money.

Flight and airline schedules will be provided to everyone who secures a vacation package in late JUNE 2023.
